Fly Shuttle Pit Loom

Fly Shuttle Pit Loom

A loom that slots into a pit and has the weaver seated at ground level. It is operated using a foot pedal known as the treadle, with which the warp yarns are raised, creating a shed for the weft to pass through. The shuttle, with the weft, is propelled along a race board and the two shuttle boxes on either side of the board help automate multiple steps in the weaving process.
