One of the five Tathagatas or the five transcendental Buddhas in Vajrayana Buddhism, Ratnasambhava is associated with the destruction of greed and pride. He is depicted in the southern division of mandalas representing the Buddhist cosmos. Ratnasambhava is associated with the jewel symbol and is usually shown with his hand in the dana mudra, the gesture of giving.
