Sunil Kant Munjal (b. 1960)
An industrialist, philanthropist and patron of the arts, Sunil Kant Munjal is the chairman of the Hero Group and founder of the Serendipity Arts Foundation.
In 1999, Munjal founded the Ludhiana Sanskritik Samagam, which promotes performing arts across north India. In 2014, he established the Serendipity Arts Foundation to create a platform to exhibit art and as an institution to sustain the practices of artists, writers and researchers in the field.
He has received several awards, including the 2016 Jehangir Ghandy Medal for Social and Industrial Peace. He has also written and published books, such as All the World is a Stage: The Story of How the LSS Invigorated Ludhiana’s Art and Culture (2017) and The Making of Hero: Four Brothers, Two Wheels and Revolution that Shaped India (2020).
At the time of writing, Munjal continues to serve as a Founding Patron of the Serendipity Arts Trust.
