One of the five Tathagatas or the five transcendental Buddhas in Vajrayana Buddhism, Akshobhya is associated with consciousness and knowledge and is generally depicted in the eastern division of mandalas representing the Buddhist cosmos. He is usually represented with blue or black skin, accompanied by two elephants, with a bell, staff, jewel, lotus, prayer wheel and sword. His consort is Lochana.
