William Henderson

Glossary

A photographer and co-founder of the Bombay Photographic Society along with William Johnson. Henderson owned one of the earliest commercial photographic studios in Bombay (now Mumbai) in the 1850s. Henderson and Johnson also worked on a monthly photographic album, the Indian Amateur’s Photographic Album (1852 onwards) and The Oriental Races and Tribes, Residents and Visitors of Bombay (1863–65), which featured architectural studies of Bombay and surrounding areas.
