Tusche

Tusche

A greasy ink used in lithography, etching and silkscreen printing. In lithography, artists use it to create the desired image on stone or metal plates, before the surface is processed and made ready for printing. In etching, it is used to create the ground on the metal plate on which the design is to be etched, while during silkscreen printing, it is used to create a design on the mesh. After the application of glue, the screen is treated with a dissolving solution that washes away the tusche, leaving a positive of the design.
