John Wilson

John Wilson

John Wilson (b. 1804; d. 1875) was a Scottish Christian missionary, educator and Orientalist who lived in the Bombay Presidency (now Mumbai), Maharashtra. He founded the Wilson College in 1832 and served as the president of the Asiatic Society of Bombay from 1835 to 1842. He also advocated for the formation of the Archaeological Society of India (ASI).
