Lalitasana

Lalitasana

A pose found in the religious art of Sikhism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism, it is also known as “the royal position.” The figure is typically depicted sitting on a throne with the left leg tucked inwards and the right leg dangling in such a manner that it is in resting on the ground or on an object. Several deities have also been depicted sitting on their vahana or mount in this posture.
