Museum in Dhaka, Bangladesh, opened in 1983, though originally established as the Dhaka Museum in 1913 and inaugurated by Thomas David Gibson Carmichael, then governor of Bengal. It has an extensive collection of over 90,000 artefacts ranging from archaeological findings to items from the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, including leaf manuscripts, sculptures, weapons, craft objects and geological items. Its premises also house a large library.
