Another name for Avalokitesvara, the bodhisattva of compassion, he is the patron bodhisattva of Tibet. He is usually depicted dressed in white silk garments and seated in the padmasana on a row of lotus petals. His principal hands are folded in the anjali mudra before his chest, while his other two hands hold a lotus and a rosary respectively.
