Gangaikondacholapuram

A village in present-day Tamil Nadu which served as the capital city of the Chola Dynasty during the reign of Rajendra Chola I. It is the site of the Brihadisvara Temple, which was built c. 1030 CE by Rajendra I and modelled on and named after the Brihadisvara Temple at Thanjavur.
