Ruling dynasty of Magadha (present-day Bihar, northeastern India) between the fifth and eighth centuries CE, founded by Krishnagupta (r. 490–505 CE). They bore no relation to the Gupta dynasty whom they succeeded, and were likely a feudatory state, similar to their contemporaries, the Maukharis. All evidence of this dynasty comes from a single inscription — the Aphsad inscription of Adityasena (r. 655–680 CE) — which chronicles the genealogy of the dynasty up to Adityasena. Following their decline in the mid-eighth century, they were succeeded by the Pushyabhuti dynasty.
