An archaeological site in the district of Raichur, Karnataka, famous for a Minor Rock Edict etched on gneiss that identifies Ashoka with his epithet Devanampriya (“beloved of the gods”) for the first time. It was also the site where Rajendra Chola I defeated the Later Western Chalukya ruler Jayasimha II in 1019–20 CE.
