A dynasty that ruled the Deccan and adjoining regions in India, stretching from Malwa in the west to Kanchipuram in the south, from the eighth to tenth century CE. Important works of art, architecture and literature, including the Ellora Caves and Kavirajamarga, the earliest known Kannada grammar, have been attributed to this period.
