Prayer beads, usually in the form of a garland, that are used in Hindu religious practice. These are made from the dried pits of the fruits of the Blue Marble tree (Elaeocarpus Angustifolius). The term “rudraksha” literally means the “eye of Shiva” and derives from the words Rudra, which is another name for Shiva, and aksha, the Sanskrit word for “eye.”
