Established in 2015, it is an initiative of the Bengaluru-based not-for-profit arts organisation, the India Foundation for the Arts. It is aimed at equipping theatre groups from across India with skills related to administration, fund-raising, publicity and strategy. Theatre organisations such as the India Theatre Forum and Junoon have been associated with the project. Advisors on the project include noted cultural practitioners such as Sameera Iyengar, Sanjna Kapoor, Sunil Shanbhag and Sudhanva Deshpande.
