A governor at Girnar in Junagarh, Gujarat, under the Mauryan emperor Ashoka. He is believed to have been of Greek or Persian origin and is described in the Junagarh Rock Inscription (c. 150 CE) as a Yavanaraja, meaning “Greek king” or “Greek governor.” He is credited with adding a canal to the construction of a local dam in Junagarh.
